The Interior of the pilgrimage church
MetadataShow full item record
The immense space of the pilgrimage church is apparent from the street lamps which have simply been moved indoors for illumination. At the very center of the church is the altar as dictated by Rudolph Schwarz, a relative of the Bohm family. Bohm felt that the pilgrimage experience should involve not only the celebration of the mass but also be a space for festivals, including not only prayer, but singing, concerts, dances, and even film. Nonetheless the immense pulpit for proclamation cannot be missed. With the exception of the pavers of the floor, all interior surfaces are those of reinforced, sandblasted, concrete.
