Résumé
In the structure of the Salona colosseum, archaeologists found a room which they identified as a holding cell for those Christians about to be martyred. The evidence was a fresco of the martyr, now largely faded or destroyed. The historical anomaly concerning martyrdom is that there is somewhat better evidence for the martyrdom of Christians in this little colosseum than there is at the Colosseum at Rome. Shown here are reconstructed as well as original walls of the prison/chapel.
