Abstract
The font also surmounts a Baptismal pool for those who wish to be baptised by immersion. (Roman Catholics make the distinction between immersion which is portrayed in early Christian frescoes and mosaics as standing knee deep in water and submersion which is the preference of Baptists.) The three steps in the pool are a reminder of the three days that Christ was in the tomb. As Christ was in the tomb and after three days rose again, so too Baptism is a reminder that we come forth from the pool of Baptism into the new life of resurrection.
