Resumo
In 1661 Louis XIV decided to reign as sole ruler without a prime minister and began to enlarge Versailles, ultimately bringing it to its present glory. Persecution proceeded with a vengeance with many forced conversions and a steady exodus of Huguenots from France. The result was the Louis abrogated the edict of Nantes on the excuse that there was no more Huguenots in France.
