Tadao ando, architect. The windows in the form of a cross provide the image of the cross on the wall behind the liturgical center.

At the bottom of the stairs a Buddhist temple with traditional lattice and wooden timber work covered with vermillion paint.

The table, pulpit and font are of typical minimalist Ando.

Again one finds oneself between a straight and curved wall.

Behind the vermillion screen is the central Buddha.

An art installation within the two story underground entrance room.

A floor to ceiling window illumines the chapel with very spare pews and liturgical furniture which constitute typical Ando minimalism. Concrete and steel are all that are needed for this aesthically elegant interior.

The chapel is a simple rectangle focusing on a large free-standing cross with a pulpit to the right and communion table to the left. The natural light is provided by narrow slits in the two upper rectancles and ceiling.
