Tadao ando, architect. The windows in the form of a cross provide the image of the cross on the wall behind the liturgical center.
Nonetheless they give an almost surreal sense of the wooded surroundings on Mount Rokko.

A narrow slit invites one to return to the natural world.
A floor to ceiling window illumines the chapel with very spare pews and liturgical furniture which constitute typical Ando minimalism. Concrete and steel are all that are needed for this aesthically elegant interior.
