Thomas F. Torrance is the best-known theologian in the English-speaking world for good reason. His writings demonstrate expertise in the history of dogma as well as in theological loci, and his interest in the relation of theology to natural science has produced stimulating studies. The essay before us treats some of his favorite themes, and he explores them within the context of the tradition which he has championed, criticized, and loved.
